“It’s taken me all my life to learn what not to play.”

Dizzy Gillespie

I woke up this morning thinking of Dizzy Gillespie.
I thought of my brother and his trumpet.
I thought of life.
I thought of my dreams.
I thought of what I have done and what I am yet to do.
I thought and I wept and I read this quote and I said “YES!”

“It’s taken me all my life to learn what not to play.”

Dizzy Gillespie

I AM learning that very thing. What is my music? What is not? What is yours? What is not?

For me what not to play has to do with buying into the lack of hope, the lack of patience, the lack of kindness. FOR me what I will play are the strings of compassion. I will listen to the wind and write the symphony of joy! A joy so strong, not wimpy. Not a “hallmark” JOY but the real, in your gut, despite all circumstances and situations kinda joy….

I will not play despair.

Today, today and for every day I breath I will play

AMAZEMENT!
